Sylvie's 'verse deals with topics such as period-"typical" sexism, homophobia and colonialism, seeing as Sylvie's position as a woman is a plot point, her sexuality is a major focus and her brother imports coffee, whereas her future fiancé is the heir to coffee plantations in modern-day Ethiopia. While these topics are easily avoided in casual conversation, her brother's and fiancé's jobs are difficult to edit out and may need mention. I will never spring these subjects on a thread partner without warning, though, and will always ask before bringing any of these things up.
